The Academy of Art University in San Francisco collaborated with the San Francisco Fire Department for the celebration of the SFFD 150th Anniversary. The two teams worked closely together to create the website, logo and promotional materials for the events taking place throughout the 2016 calendar year.

President Elisa Stephens

Dr. Elisa Stephens was appointed the President of the Academy of Art University in 1992. Dr. Stephens has been committed to expanding the Academy’s curriculum to stay current with new technologies and industry trends, as well as developing state-of-the-art facilities and resources.

Chief Joanne Hayes-White

Joanne Hayes-White has been the Chief of the San Francisco Fire Department for over a decade. She was sworn in on January 16, 2004 making San Francisco the largest urban fire department in the world with a female chief. Chief Hayes-White is considered to be a hands-on, collaborative and team-oriented leader.

It is the duty of the Chief of Department to promote the Department Mission and Values and to supervise the organization of the Department.
